These interfering and aggravating factors had to be managed, and the use of management strategies could again influence the characteristics of PSF and whether or how PSF continued to interfere with their lives. Fatigue was initially interpreted as a normal reaction to having a stroke, and stroke survivors first became aware of PSF sometime after their initial hospital admission
